The best Combination of Pokers

Unlike Hold’em and the herd, where the oldest combination wins, the youngest wins in the lowball. As in games with the board (Hold’em, Omaha), the blinds and button are used here, and sometimes also the antes. In a single draw, each player can exchange cards once, although you can stay with your cards (do not discard cards during an exchange).

Rules 2-7 Single Draw

Firstly, it should be remembered that the seniority of combinations in 2-7 games is different from low games. In a lowball 2-7, straights and flushes worsen the hand, and aces are always considered high. Therefore, the best possible combination is: 7, 5, 4, 3, 2. The following incomplete list shows the hands of a 2–7 lowball in order of increasing seniority (a hand with number 1 can very rarely win, and with number 16 it can be “nuts”) :

  • J, 7, 4, 3, 2 (of the same suit – flash)

  • 8, 7, 6, 5, 4 (street)

  • 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 (junior street)

  • 5, 5, 5, 6, 3

  • 2, 2, 7, 6, 5

  • A, 9, 6, 4, 2

  • A, 8, 7, 4, 2

  • A, 5, 4, 3, 2 (no straight – ace high)

  • K, J, 8, 7, 4

  • T, 7, 5, 4, 3

  • T, 6, 5, 4, 3

  • T, 6, 5, 4, 2

  • 9, 7, 6, 4, 3

  • 8, 6, 4, 3, 2

  • 7, 6, 4, 3, 2

  • 7, 5, 4, 3, 2

Blinds

Draw poker uses mandatory bets called blinds. The player to the left of the button puts the small blind, and the player to the left of the small blind puts the big blind. The small blind is usually half the size of the big blind. Sometimes a lowball is played with antes (a small forced bet by each player in addition to the blinds).

The deal

Each player receives five cards face down. After that, a round of betting takes place, where each player can call, raise or fold. Players who remain in the game after the first betting round can exchange cards. This means that you can try to improve your combination by discarding some cards to get new ones instead. Click on the cards you want to discard and click on the discard button. If desired, you can discard all 5 cards. If you are satisfied with an existing combination, click the “Stand” button. This will mean that you refuse to fold. After the exchange is completed, another round of betting takes place, when players place bets or fold (if the opponent has made a bet before). In the absence of bets, players can check. If after this several players remain in the game, the cards are revealed, and the player with the best combination takes the pot.

So, the sequence of actions is as follows:

  • Each player receives five cards.

  • Trading Round # 1, starting with the player to the left of the big blind

  • Discard / exchange cards starting from the first player to the left of the button

  • Round bid # 2, starting with the player to the left of the button.

  • Autopsy (if necessary)

In draw poker, there are situations when the required number of cards is not left in the deck. In such cases, shuffling is done, and the game continues with a new deck.
